Water activities

Lac du Der, the largest man-made lake in Europe, has water based activities for all. For the brave, why not try your hand at jet skiing, or for the more leisurely, hire out a pedalo. Alternatively, spend a day relaxing on one of the sandy beaches.

Tree adventure park

Next to the lake is the Adventure Park. Ideal for families, the varying levels of difficulty mean everyone can have a go. Challenge yourself on the high ropes, take a trip down the death slide or just take it easy and watch the children enjoy themselves.

Go-karting and quads

In the nearby town of Chaumont, budding racing drivers can test their skills on the karting circuit. Also available there are tours on quad bikes, where you are taken off road into the forest.

Microlight flights and parachuting

Take to the air with one of the sky based activities on offer. From the nearby Mussey airfield, get a birds eye view of the beautiful landscape in a glider, or if you prefer motorised travel, take a trip in a microlight. Remember to take a camera to capture some fantastic scenery. If throwing yourself out of a plane is more your cup of tea, try a parachute jump in Brienne le Château.

Horse-riding

Horse riding is available locally. Ask our receptionist for details when you arrive on site.

Golf

For the golfers, play a round at the attractive courses of Arc en Barrois or Combles en Barrois, near Bar le Duc. Don’t worry if you don’t have room for clubs, all your equipment is available for hire.

Cyclorail

Making use of the old railway line, the Cyclorail in Chantraines is a very pleasant way to spend a few hours. Up to 4 people can travel on one ‘car’, which moves along the track by ‘pedal power’. The routes are fairly flat, so you don’t need to be a ‘Tour de France’ cyclist to do it. There are plenty of information points on the routes, letting you know all about the areas you are passing, and the views are fantastic.

Bowling

Whatever the weather, get as many strikes as you can with a few games at the bowling alley in the nearby town of Chaumont.

Theme park nearby

Cor de Chasse Leisure Park

The ‘Parc de Loisirs’ at Esnouveaux, a short drive from site, has a wide range of activities for all the family. Try your hand at mini-golf, have a game of boules, jump around on the bouncy castle, trot along on a pony ride, or just spend an afternoon relaxing.

Nigoland children's theme park

Theme parks are always a winner with the children, and Nigloland is less than an hours drive from site. From the Bat Coaster to the Haunted House, the Log Flume to the Magic Forest, there is excitement and enjoyment for all. Excellent value for money and a great day out for all the family.

Disneyland - Paris

A two and a half-hour drive from the site, Disneyland Paris is well within range for those of you wishing to meet Mickey, Pluto and friends.
